Dedicated Fanbase is an incredibly playful horse. She's quite the mischievous imp, in fact - often seemingly taking pleasure from annoying her handler. While she does know to behave herself when it really matters, such as on race day, the rest of the time? Well, good luck getting her to do anything you want her to do the first time around, because she'll end up doing whatever the opposite of it is just for the fun of it. Thankfully, this behaviour can be nipped in the bud for the day with a stern response, especially if it comes from her jockey - someone she's come to respect more than most.
A quirk of Celeb's is that she often tosses her head about. This is supposed to be playful, just like most of her behaviour, but it often ends up being more destructive than she'd hope when she ends up accidentally knocking her head into things! Buckets, walls, and unprepared staff have all fallen foul of her 'jokes'. Really, it's sometimes best to just stay out of her way if you're not ready to risk being knocked off your feet! One thing that Celeb seems to love is tiny ponies. Nobody knows the reason for this, but she just seems utterly enamoured by any kind of short horse, donkey, or other such animal. She'll follow them around, seemingly utterly in love with them. Of course, this isn't really an issue. In fact, it turned out to be useful, as it meant that giving her a tiny friend to spend her time with was an easy solution for staff when it came to keeping her calm on big race days. On the track, Dedicated Fanbase has a strange running style. She doesn't settle into a particular position, instead choosing to wander around the pack. She might speed up, she might slow down. Maybe she'll act as if she's stalking another horse for a bit, or maybe she'll challenge the front runner for a moment before dropping back to keep the closers company. It's an odd style, and it's all done with the aim of confusing the competition. If they don't know what she's doing to do, then they can't predict her. It means that when she does make her final move and starts seriously making a bid for victory, nobody knows what she's doing until it's too late and she's already got it in the bag! |
